How to Hard Reset HTC Windows Phone 8X 

Mobile factory reset is  changing your mobile back to its factory settings  before the first time you turned it on.
If you’re pass your mobile on to someone else or your mobile has a permanent problem that cannot be solved, you can  force it to factory reset (also you call that hard reset). Factory reset is not a stage to be taken lightly. It’ll permanently clear all your data and customized settings, and will delete any apps you’ve downloaded and installed. Be confident to back up your data and files you want to save before you do a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset via settings

The most convenient way to do a factory reset is via the settings.

  1. On the Start screen, slide to the left.
  2. Tap Settings > about.
  3. Tap reset your phone, and then tap yes.

Perform a factory reset using mobile buttons

If you can’t turn your mobile on or access settings, you can still perform a mobile  factory reset by using the mobile's buttons.

1.Turn the power off your phone.
2.Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button of your phone, and then shortly press the POWER button. leave the VOLUME DOWN button when you see an logo on the screen.
3.Then press the following hardware buttons in section: VOLUME UP > VOLUME DOWN > POWER > VOLUME DOWN.
